So I hear about a particular chocolate mousse cake which *somebody* had with his free lunch (I hate you), and I decided that chocolate cake sounded really good. I mentioned to co-workers that I'm running up the street to Charlie's Pizza, which has some of the best homemade pies and cakes in the area, "does any body else want me to pick something up for them?" After 15-20 minutes of discussion I'm walking out with the Manager's credit card (she's buying) and a list for 1 apple pie, 4 Italian creams, 1 chocolate delight pudding, 1 chocolate scotch cake, and 1 chocolate or cream cake.
As I'm getting out of my car there is a police officer on a motorcycle right next to my car with lights flashing. Apparently he was pulling me over at the same time that I'm parking to go inside and I never knew he was there. My license sticker expired in Nov '05, and I had managed to get it renewed in January, but I hadn't changed out the stickers. Luckily I had the new one in the pocket in my door. I got off with a warning to change out the stickers or else next time he saw me I would get a ticket for "failure to display", or something like that.
Failure to display, huh? Next time I'm driving topless.
I get back to work and start scraping off the old sticker and two employees come out to investigate where their desserts are. So I am happily downing a chocolate cake, which is pretty much the same as a sheath cake, and again have a completely legal car.
