So my grandmother had gone into surgery the morning of the 16th. Needless to say, my mom had to take her and then head to the vet, then back to the hospital. She actually had a longer day than I did - mine was just a bit more emotional.

So the next night I get a phone call from my sister. They had taken my grandmother in for emergency surgery because she was having internal bleeding. They said it would be about two hours. [livejournal.com profile] reneat came over to comfort me. There was just too much going on. Mom called back about an hour later - I was just about frozen, because it wasn't supposed to be that quick. Luckily, or unluckily (I'm really not sure how this works anymore), when they went to give her a mild sedative she began turning blue and they had to revive her. So the anesthetic person said that there was was no way they were going to be able to put her under for surgery. Apparently they looked again and she was starting to have blood clotting. So they will be keeping an eye on her.

[livejournal.com profile] reneat and I watched a tape of Erasure videos borrowed from [livejournal.com profile] disgruntledgrrl (which I will be returning Saturday, along with the green dress that I keep forgetting to bring over). Reneat had called me about a week or so ago while I was watching the same videos and dying laughing. She said she needed to see for herself why I was laughing so hard. I warned her.

Last night was amazing. I never really thought much before of how loud us Americans get when drunk (or anytime for that matter) until after spending so much time with [livejournal.com profile] smokedamage. Well, we went to Pete's Dueling Pianos Bar in Fort Worth and there were plenty of patrons who made it blatantly clear that we, especially male college-age Texans, can get pretty damned obnoxious. But the show was absolutely worth it. Went to IHOP afterwards and then home by around 2:30 or 3am. I then had to back into work at 7am to get a report completely. I was hoping it would only take an hour, but it took 3. Now I'm back off to work again.

I can't wait for this weekend. I need to relax. Hm, have gaming Saturday afternoon, two parties Saturday night, and (might) try to see YaaHalla (did I spell it right?) Sunday night. Yeah, sounds relaxing, I think.
